Pic taken following a fabulous short break on the Isle of Arran.
I remember on my travels being knocked out by Koh Tarutao in Thailand. I recall thinking how amazing it would be to live in a country where there was so much wildlife. It was a reflection of my own ignorance that I never realised that there were places here in the UK that more than matched its critter count.
Oh and I never saw one of these in Thailand.
Rest of the Arran shots (including seals, deer, monsters of the deep etc) here.
See below for cliched Scots’ shot.

I checked back and found the ‘Laughing Cavalier of Seal Family’.
I also love Arran.

hehe love the seal shot, that’s crying out for a caption competition! (Maybe a LOLseal…check out http://icanhascheezburger.com/ if the LOLcat phenomenon has missed anyone!!)
The UK is one of the best places to find wildlife, you just have to know where to look. I was photographing squirrels in the local park at the weekend and remarked about the many times I’ve seen beautiful wildlife here, and hadn’t had my camera with me.
Cragside is a great visit for red squirrels by the way, and such beautiful grounds to walk around in.

It gets my seal of approval…
BTW, I find your photography stunning. Have you not thought of publishing them in book form?
