He wasn’t my first choice but he’s back.
And for some reason I’m grinning like an idiot and can’t wait for tonight’s match. It’s been a while since I felt like that.
While the chances are it will end badly, it’s going to be a whole lot of fun in the meantime.
Tonight my heart is happy and although my head is dissenting, it won’t know what’s hit it after pre and post game celebrations.
The Toon managed to find the manager I didn’t even know I wanted.

At least you get to see the game tonight, but I have to confess I don’t rate our chances against Stoke with the number of players we have missing right now. Atmosphere will be great, though.
I’ve managed to change my shift to so I can watch the Bolton game down the pub on Saturday. I’d not have bothered were it not for King Kev!

Diehard Geordie
Yippee - he is back - great news.
Better they are also saying ‘Shearer’ is coming in as his assistant.
Happy Days, good football, no more long balls, who cares about winning if the footie is good.
King Kev and Prince Shearer - what more can we want except Michael Carrick back on Tyneside where he really belongs.

I was the same - for the first time in I don’t know how long I was excited about NUFC again. And it’s funny that everyone downplayed our chance against Stoke, and we go and win like that! Great performance. Now all we need is Shearer announced as his No.2 and there’ll be an official holiday in Newcastle :-D

Well that happened quicker than I thought. I think it will be a great apointment as long as he gets a tactical number two in. Shearer is a great shout and they would surely be given time to develop from the attacking play to attacking play which can win games consistently. Congratulations to all you Geordies and good luck with the rest of the season. C

Mosh - as it turns out we did rather well against Stoke and we only needed 10 men. Can’t wait for the Bolton game though God knows who we’ll play with Emre joining the suspended/injured/away crowd.
Minxlj - KK has that power to galvanise everyone. My mum even loved football when he was last here. I’d overhear her and friends talking about it. Unheard of.
Still not sure about Shearer - I think it is no coincidence that Chris Coleman, KK’s old Fulham captain quit his job in Spain yesterday. I reckon he’s a cert. KK and Shearer are not enemies but aren’t best buddies either. I think Shearer will have to wait. If anyone is strong enough to see off the spectre of Al it’s KK.
FPB - As I have said on other blogs already today - all managers posts (barring the 0.1% that end in retirement) end in tears. KK’s will probably be no different. For a man of his incredible managerial record it is testimony to the power of Britain’s miserable sports reporters that most people see him as some kind of failure. It’s all a reflection of people’s lost ability to “think for their f*cking selves” that people believe it.

Chris - nearly missed your comment. Don’t reckon it is Shearer. Cookie Coleman could be a good one though. Always seems a decent bloke and smart with it too.

I was damn pleased to hear the Stoke result (reminds me, I need to email my mate in Stoke to annoy him) and gutted that the game wasn’t on TV. Seems that the one televised game was the worst of the lot from last night!
I’ve managed to get my shift changed on Saturday so I can be down the pub for the Bolton match. Roll on our first double of the season! A nice high before we go to Arsenal twice in four days later in the month…

I don’t hold out a lot of hope for the Arse game. It’ll be interesting to see how he plays it. We will surely be defeated as our squad is currently decimated (and not very good anyway) but..
if he plays it cagey people will question whether he’s still the old KK of old and will question his confidence, if he plays it attacking - we’ll get beat by the odd goal in seven and people will say he never learns.
The test for KK, for the timebeing, is the same as it was for big Sam, he has to beat the bad teams and beat them well. We’ll worry about the top four when some investment has been made.

I am happy that he is back. Since Aspirilla those corners are not exciting.

nice to see KK back hopefully he can put the passion back into those wearing the black and whites on the pitch and get the place buzzing again hope we can do the business tonight against bolton .
nice to see the papers reporting about players wanting to come to the toon rather than get out i think s.w.p would be a top buy .
hope KK can give the team the kick up the backside they need as always time will tell.
